No Sign of Outside Investors for Nokia Siemens Networks
Nokia and Siemens are reported to be struggling to secure an outside investor for their infrastructure joint venture after several months of talks. The two companies are also in dispute about the valuation they put on the joint venture, unnamed sources have told the Reuters news agency.

UK Joint Venture Reaches 12,000 Shared 3G Base Station
A UK based network infrastructure joint venture says that it has now delivered more than 12,000 consolidated 3G sites for T-Mobile UK and Hutchison 3G UK (Three). The company, Mobile Broadband Network Limited (MBNL) is a network joint-venture between Three and Everything Everywhere - itself the merged UK arms of Orange and T-Mobile.
Managed Services in 29 Countries for TeliaSonera
TeliaSonera International Carrier has renewed and expanded its multicountry Managed Services contract with Ericsson, building on a deal signed in 2003 and expanded in 2005. Ericsson will nowperform field operation services for the operator's voice and data networks, built on multivendor equipment. Among the larger countries covered are Austria, France, Germany, the UK and the US; the expanded deal also involves taking over field maintenance in Russia.

Everest climbers get 3G network
ount Everest climbers can now surf the internet and make video calls through a 3G network, Nepalese telecoms firm Ncell says. The company has installed eight 3G base stations along the route to Everest base camp. The wireless network could help thousands of tourists who visit Mount Everest every year, Ncell claims.
